About the beginning

Victoria Hospital Narayanganj was established in 1885. The tycoon Harkant Banerjee financially supported the establishment of the hospital. Queen Victoria helped build the hospital with land. Although the hospital was named after Queen Victoria, it is now called 'Narayanganj General Hospital'. However, the hospital is still known as 'Victoria Hospital'. Although none of the hospital buildings remain from Queen Victoria's time, there is a large table donated by her as a memento. Queen Victoria's table in the hospital pharmacy is used with great care. About a hundred years after the establishment of Narayanganj Victoria Hospital, Hospital Social Service activities started. Starting from 13/04/1982 A.D. till now a team of hardworking officers and staff are working tirelessly to provide services to the poor, helpless and distressed patients. In the beginning, the service was started on a very small scale through 01 social worker. The activities which started on a very small scale with the help of local dignitaries and philanthropists have increased today and reached beyond Narayanganj district to surrounding districts. The hospital social service team will continue this service in the service of self-humanity.
